Saturday it was another tough away game. This time against Son Sardina AT D.S.S.
Chloe Serra Jodin made it 1-0 after a pass from Caroline Vad Østby after ten minutes, but Son Sardina equalised half way through the first half.
No more goals the first 45 minutes made it 1-1 at half time.
In the second half we got the worst possible start when Son Sardina took the lead 2-1 two minutes in.
Happily we managed to come back fast when Tanja Løfhus and Renate Husum came alone with their goalkeeper. Tanja tipped the ball over the keeper and to Renate, who easily put the ball into an empty net. 2-2.
Renate match winner
Both teams gave their all for a victory under Saturdays game, but in the end it was we who made it 3-2. Caroline Vad Østby got the ball at the half way line and dribled past several players before she crossed it in. The cross was perfect and Renate manage to head the ball in the goal and 3-2.
Against the end it was hektik and Son Sardina had a couple of big chances, but Yanira Ortigosa Moreno manage to save the attempts. We managed to get through the rest of the game and at the end we won the "war".
Then the girls could celebrate three important points in the fight for promotion. With the victory we manage to take over the first place in the league.
Veronica MVP
Most Valuable Player was Veronica Garcia Da Vila. She started the game as a right back and got the task to mark one of Son Sardinas best players. Against the end of the game she moved into the center midfield to get more balance in the team. Something that worked very excelent.
Last weekend Veronica played two region team games. On Wednesday she played 90 minutes in our 4-1-win against Algaida, while she also got 90 minutes today. The fact that she keeps her standard at a very high level after playing four games in one week is just incredible.
– Veronica was our best player although this was primarily a team victory. She was a very important piece in a tactical and brilliant victory. From her back-position she marked out Son Sardinas star player in the first half, and in the second half she changed the match picture from her midfield position, head coach Leif Tsolis says.
